Ableton Live Online Courses

Our Ableton Live online course is all about making music. Ableton Live is one of the world’s best DAWs for composition, songwriting, recording, production, remixing and live performance. If you’d rather be “making music” than just “using music software,” our Ableton Live remote training is for you. Check out the Ableton website for a full feature list and current product pricing.

Our 3 week Ableton Live Online Producer Certificate Course will equip novice students with the skills needed for recording music, using midi, using the sequencer, beat making, working with loops, audio editing, audio mixing, remixing, music production and live performance with the Ableton Live audio software suite. After completing this course, you will leave with a portfolio of original tracks, and the Secret Sound Producer’s Certificate in Ableton Live. You will also be eligible to register for our follow-on Ableton Live Intermediate Producer course (available remotely or in person).

Our one-to-one online classes are held via Zoom video chat, where you will have the undivided attention of your tutor for 2 hours per session. We use screen sharing to demonstrate concepts and techniques in real time, while your tutor can provide immediate feedback on your progress as you work. Each module comes complete with course notes, videos and downloads for reference before and after class.

Every student receives a free half hour setup session to help with installation and tackle any technical issues, so you can jump straight in to making music on the day of your first class. Furthermore, students can schedule free online support with their tutor outside of class to help them with any issues between sessions.

This program is about learning Ableton Live while going through the creative process of being an artist. We focus on being creative rather than getting hung up on technical details, and developing your own sound through experimentation. You will learn the ins and outs of this powerful software through a series of exercises designed to help you master the steps involved in producing your own music. After a level of getting familiar with the tools that Ableton Live has to offer, you will then develop your sonic ideas into full-length tracks. You will be exposed to a variety of approaches to arrangement and composition, and ways of creating tension and drama in your music. Modules 2 – 4 will give you the experience of completing tracks to add to your portfolio (see the Modules tab below for details).
